Thank you gentlemen for your kind comments.
It's capture signifies reward for many fruitless sessions where I've had to question my own sanity sometimes.
I firmly believe that catching such a fine specimen doesn't lead me to be a better fisherman but instead, renew my confidence that I'm doing something right and increase my confidence somewhat.

I refuse to believe there's not bigger perch in the pool and will persevere. Watch this space....

Very well done, Richard! What a cracking prech.
How did you catch it?

No skill involved, just provided a easy meal of a big juicy lob worm suspended in mid water by a perch bob.
I suppose the tricky bit was putting it in the right place at the right time.

Persistency rewarded with the targeted fish - I'd call that skill, Richard!
Have you tried to attract small fish to the spot where you hope to catch perch. I've caught my best perch next to shoals of small roach and bleak.

A ball of groundbait went in the right swim beforehand Duebel. Just a matter of watching for the right time then.

The itching of perch stripes in my mind just got worse. I will chase for them on the new pool I am enjoying. Your fault, Sir. :)

Well done, there. Especially with the simple and beautiful reality of cane fishing!

I salute you!
Lucian

Well done Richard C - beats my pb Perch by a cool 2lbs. Permission granted to look doubly smug with a smattering of contentment.

A great perch. I'd be smug too having caught a perch like that when others said I wouldn't.
