I have both this and the fly fishing one. Written as instructions for boys they're similar to mr.crabtree in a way.
Peter Stone's Come fishing with me is also great.

Following on from this thread and inspired by a Catfish.017 post this morning I rediscovered this book on my shelf. Time to read it again.Image
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......

As I caught loads of barbel ledgering with a single grain of hemp - attached as above - my thanks go to him. The barbel did not seem worried about the hook size - usually a size 8 with either a single or 2 grains. This was in the '60s on a Thames backwater fishing very close in under a root ball of a tree.
None being the size they are now but 3-5lb.

I also have a copy of this book in my collection.

It's worth noting that Colin willock was among the producers of the long running TV series,
"Survival", on ITV.
