Both the Hants Avon and the Stour have salmon in them although the number varies from year to year. Avon produced a whacker over 30 in recent years and a few smaller ones have already been caught this year.

Yes Olly, but they are shadows of their former selves as are virtually all Atlantic salmon populations. Some estimates have it as bad as an 85% reduction in returning adults on historic levels globally. I fear we could see salmon angling die off completely in my lifetime. Yet year after year the nets still go out, the fish farms grow and the predator levels continue to rise. Very frustrating :Cursing:

An estimated 350 salmon taken on the whole of the Wye for the whole of the season 2019. The politicians, scientists and public servants employed by various bodies that have overseen this drastic decline should hang their heads in shame.
