Part 4 of the Jack Hargreaves dedicated Pod Cast has been released today. I have enjoyed the first 3 sat in the garden in the dark by the side of an open fire. Minus 4 to minus 5 this evening, but I have got into routine by the firepit. A few extra logs tonight I think.

The first editions are wonderful. My girlfriend found mine at a Hay-on-Wye bookshop for £4, some twenty-five years ago. What I didn't know was that he made a fishing record "Know Your Fish" through Response Records.

The good angler is not the one with expensive equipment. Common sense, observation and trying to realize
what is happening above and below water will catch fish no matter what price equipment you fish with.

Having seen the original post regarding the book 'Fishing for a year', I thought i would try to buy a copy and treat myself for Christmas! I think I will have to wait until my lottery numbers come up! :Hahaha:

Copies of the original book vary in price from single figures to to a ton dependant on the seller. Reprints are available but its not the same.as a book its not that good and Hargreaves only wrote one on fishing. The record is much better if you have a gramophone still ! The other two records he marketed were on dog training, and horse management.(very rare indeed to find those now)

Really enjoyed the fennels priory interview .
Jack Hargreaves was hugely important in encouraging my interest in the natural world and the great outdoors.
So pleased that his legacy, lives on and am very pleased to know that we have many more of his broadcast episodes safely protected, not only for ourselves, but for future generations.
