Finally got hold of a pair....

Post by Michael »

Well I've finally got hold of a pair. No more confusion with photos either. A good clean, polish & lube and they'll be spinning fine.
Looking forward to a bit of fishing down the edge....

Oh good purchase Michael! Can a man actually have enough G&Y reels to fettle, fiddle and fish with? I fell for two more this weekend from that well known auction site :Scared: Neither have much paint remaining, the decals are completely missing and perhaps worse there were no photos of the internals so I've taken a real punt on them! I'm looking forward to seeing them in the flesh

Yes, they're built like the proverbial out house..
The other example I have, has the wick & badge missing, but at £25 for the two, I'm not going to start complaining!

I'd say you've got a bargain there Michael :Thumb: I've paid close to double that for two in questionable condition and am still waiting for them to arrive  In my experience the Seajectas rarely spin that well due to the inherent friction of the plastic/nylon disk at the bottom of the spindle. I'm trying to get some arbours made for these and the Jecta III and will put a post up on here if I get anywhere. I'm looking at a vee shaped arbour for the Seajecta as I've no need for such line capacity as mine will be used with braid.

They look like they would outlast me. Come to think of it, they look like they would outlast the Earth. I'm thinking barbel and a lump of something malodorous in a flooded river. Great find. Hope they see battle soon.
