Arnold Kingpin rim repair

Post by SharkBoy »

Hi guys advice please ... I have a silvery blue kingpin new to me - fishing this afternoon in a storm during a right old tussle with an angry common the reel slipped out of the rod collars and dinked the rim edge on some rocks in the edge ... reel retrieved and fish landed but the reel now has a rough 2 cm scrape on the rim edge .. what would be the best course of action to tidy up the mark ? Look forward to any ideas ... is there a forum member that specialises in aluminium reel repairs? Regards

Steve Boncey - currently in Cornwall - an excellent rod & reel restorer.

Rejuvenated several rods for me!

It will polish out quite easily if mounted on a lathe. It will however have a shiny aluminium finish to the edge.
Let me know if you would like it doing.

Wal.
