My little reel is only 3 inches.
Haven't used it yet.. need to polish the brass and get a nice little rod with brass reel fittings.

Here's an Allcocks Aerialite which is a bit more interesting than most as it features a Slater Latch and thus spins a lot better than most :
Did ELO or Gyrex ever have a Slater anyone know ? If not I would have to vote for this as the best bakelite pin I know of.

I seem to recall the Slater latch was offered for only a short while for the Aerialite and mentioned, but never illustrated, in the Allcock Guide

I don't think they come any smaller than this! Still have some form of old contemporary line on. Interestingly, the spare spool doesn't have the ELO script on.
Any ideas on what type /size of rod this was meant for, and how it would have been used!?

They look like a fly reel with just the one winder?
I think I read somewhere they made a fly reel.
Would be matched with a short rod I would say..5 or 6 ft!
Be interesting to try....two spools, one for worming.
Small mountain stream, tent and a frying pan.

This one has no ratchet.. 4" and runs quit and smooth..
its a cracking little reel and has nice flecks of colour.
