This was one cheap reel.
I paid £60 for both the reel and the case.
I intend to use this in 2021 with a nice cane rod.
The rod is yet to be bought but I am in the process of putting together the best outfit for a sensible amount of money.
Can anyone date the reel?
Thanks in advance
Andy

Unless I am wrong (and it is not unknown :Hahaha: ) you have an Allcock Aerial T2 in really good condition, so if the ebonite back flange is crack free you could probably add a 0 to what you paid, a real bargain! :Hat:

Thanks for the reply but there is no ebonite on the reel.
The reel is all metal and is 4 inch in size.
Mind I know the price was a steal.

My apologies, my eyes deceived me! It is a T3 model (1915-1925)? with tapered horn handles, looks to be in super condition. I will leave value to others, but worth considerably more than you paid! :Hat:

Many thanks for the reply.
I also bought a 2 inch (yes tiny) Young’s fly reel with block leather case for £40 for the same seller and it is also in beautiful condition.
I am a collector of fly reels with my direction mainly on vintage or rare.

It looks like it could be, on the front of the book The Allcock Aerial, a Collecter Guide, there is an An Aerial pictured in a very similar case to yours? :Hat:

Definitely looks like an Allcocks case to me
I sold one a couple of years ago and if I remember correctly It went for £120
So you got a Reel Bargain Ha Ha
