DAM Quick 110 - 550 + 221 and 331 now!!!
As DAM reels have been mentioned on the forum a couple of times recently, I'd like to show you my latest addition to the ever growing collection.
I've got a complete set of the DAM Quick 110 - 550 now. These reels have been built between 1967 and 1973, so they're at least as old as myself.
The 110 is going to be paired with my DAM "Wiesent", a light spinning rod from the same period.
The 220 will be the perfect fit for the DAM "Saale", an "Avon"-like rod.
I've yet to think about what to do with the other three reels. The 550 is a veritable monster of a reel. The last picture shows it in comparison to a Mitchell 300.
Thanks for looking, gentlemen! If anyone is interested in buying a DAM reel, I'm most happy to help. They're quite easy to find in Germany.
A "quick" update . I've finally found the two high speed models of this series. The 221and the 331.
For servicing the reels I also have the original grease and oil now and a couple of bail arm springs and washers for the drag.

They’re fantastic. I can see a use for all of them, right up to the 550 for catfish!
I’d like a little 110 and 220.

Very nice indeed Martin. I have to say these reels are unknown to me but as is so often with this excellent forum we've had a few posts of late that have expanded my knowledge

Hi Martin,
Lovely reels, photos and post. My 330's are my workhorse carp reels, the 440 is for that special big day (yet to happen) and the 220 for tench, chub, etc. It's interesting how I use the 'originals' rather than the 330N and 220N (the latter still has a sticker on the foot)...they just feel good.
I'd love to get my paws on a 285 if you ever come across one.
Regards Cat

What a great looking collection of DAM's, can't wait to find one myself, they are proving to be a tad tricky to track down these days

Delightful collection there Martin. As you saw the other day, I was fortunate to have a barter exchange and ended up only last week with a terrific DAM 331 S model from I think 1968 ? I will think on for a while but might decide I also want a second 331 S to match it but it'll have to wait at this stage.
