Hi Everyone,
I hope you're all well this evening. I've just taken delivery of a cane rod I bought online and wondered if anyone could share any information about it? There aren't any signs of a makers mark, it's 12 feet long and was listed as bamboo and cane. Any information would be gratefully received.

I had a Bamboo rod similar to this about 11ft long. I'm assuming yours has a greenheart tip section like this one?
Sadly I could not glean any information about the rod when I tried on the forum, but I hope you have better luck.
It had quite quite a set in it too, the rod on the right.

Re: Give us a clue?!
Hi Tony,
Thank you for your reply, yes the tip could be greenheart. I may re-whip the rod as it looks like the whipping has been painted over. I wondered if it may be one of those handmade one-off rods, if no-one can shed any light on a maker that's fine. It's a lovely rod and I'm looking forward to wetting a line with it.
Thanks again,
Jay

The top rod, from the Allcocks Anglers Guide of 1939, seems to come as close to the photos you’ve put up, as I can find. It could just as easily be homemade though.
Hope that helps.
