Re: Any ideas of the maker?

Post by ChrisMec »

I have just found this thread from Mon. Dec. 10th by Penninelad. I to have a similar rod but mine is 15 ft long in three sections and is made of Spanish reed? with a cane tip and has no metal ferrules. It has a small dark red button on the butt and above on the holder is stamped "Martin James, Redditch, England".
Above the 24in handle it has Martin James, the butt and tip rings are agate the nine intermediates are chrome. It is not close whipped like the rod pictured, the silk on the body of the rod is the same colour but the thread on the rings looks like Tiger Thread in a light brown, the rod weighs 15oz.
I have had the rod for a few years and have not found any information about it until I found this thread, I hope this information helps and if anyone has info about this rod I look forward to any reply's.
Health and happiness to all.
Stay safe.
Chris.
