Bennett’s of Sheffield

Post by OldRod »

O wise ones,
I am refurbishing a Bennett’s rod (as a practise project before my Chapman’s) and wonder if anyone knows what the writing below the Bennett’s logo says?
I am sure it’s the model name, and I have a vague idea what it might be, but I hope someone knowledgable can tell me definitely what it says.
I have taken off all the old varnish except, obviously, that which covers the crest.

Long shot, but if anyone knows how I can get hold of a new Bennett’s transfer, I would be very much obliged.

Many thanks in anticipation

I think it is The Linnet.

It is indeed The Linnet. I have one somewhere and might be able to remove the transfer. I think however that it's fairly easy to make one if you can get a good photo of an existing one. There are people here who have done this I think.

What is your favourite word?
I suspect it could be “love”, despite its drawbacks in the rhyming department.

Many thanks Gentlemen. Iain, cheeky request - would you possibly be able to take a photo of the logo on your rod?
Thanks again for info, Stef and Iain

When I find it. I have just moved house and all my fishing stuff is still packed up.
