Milbro Longfella F50

Does anybody have any knowledge or opinion of this rod? I picked it up at a car boot ages ago and have dragged it out of its hiding to restore it. Rod is in reasonable shape, solid cane with split cane tip all reasonably straight, cork serviceable and ferrules fit ok but needs a complete re-whip and some eyes are missing.

I’d be grateful if anyone could tell me what bottom ring it should have - the same as the other wires or should it be different? And what is the best thread I should use/buy to keep this correct to period.
