I will try to be there. It's my six month recall on my prostate the day after so I could do with a bit of diversion. Have you tried drop-shotting there?

I'm looking forwards to the day. I will bring a few Lancashire lob worms to hopefully entice the Yorkshire perch.

Thanks

Ah, the champagne of lobs as opposed to the prosecco they'll be used to. They'll be queuing up to surrender.

Just to remind you we will meet at Carlisle Street entrance to the canal at 10.00am on Sunday 15th September so I can let you through the locked barrier. Feel free to bring pies and cake. I will bring some quills along if any float makers are attending. I fished yesterday and had 40-50 perch of no great size(the largest about 1lb)on brandlings, lobworms and maggots. However a very large perch was crashing about in my swim. My mobile number for contact on the day is 07850475067.Bring some crumb to groundbait for gudgeon.A 3lb 2 oz perch was caught last week and there is a 28lb carp that came out the week before! This is a very wide canal but you only need to fish no more than three rod lengths out.

Mark,
Look forward to being there and meeting all. A few quills would be nice, and I have a fresh jar of damson jam for you, or perhaps some scones. I'll see if wife can make a few otherwise I'll bring a few cakes.
Tight lines
Peter

I look forward to meeting you all on Sunday.
A couple of Yorkshire Wolds pies from me - looks like we shall be too busy eating to catch any fish!

There is a good head of quality roach in the SYN so if you want a bit of variety hemp and tares may be successful or perhaps punched bread.
