Thank you so much for your reply. I have assembled it and (embarrassed to say) using a ruler i make it 11ft 10" from the end of the butt to the end of the top ring. I shall take a pic of all 3 sections side by side and post shortly. Thank you again for replying :)

Looks like a 'Test' to me. Very beefy for a float rod.

I'd agree with the 'Test' identification. I refurbished a 12ft. 'Test' about 3 years ago. Because of the handwriting they sometimes appear on websites as a 'Jest.' Definitely a rod with some 'power' to it.

Some were whipped with black/yellow twist thread apparently, but mine was definitely black/white which looked like black/yellow due to the discolouration of the ageing varnish. I believe that the later ones were whipped in plain black.

There are a few fans of MARCO rods on the forum and I must admit to being one of them. Tight lines and welcome to the forum.
The coiled line travels from the reel, it brings up at last, the hook goes home, and then begins the test of skill. "BB"

I used a 12' Test for a while. An ideal barbel rod. Plenty of power. The shorter versions are a bit more versatile
