Youngs Purist 2 mystery

Post by Troydog »

I was putting new 3lb Maxima line on my Purist reel. On completion, I found that the rachet no longer works. Whichever way i put the switch, the real is free running. How could this happened please?
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......

Or it’s snapped..... easy to fix, just give Gary Mills a call and he’ll send you a couple in the post for little cost (always worth having a spare)

Very many thanks gents. I took the cage off again and identified a sort of triangular piece of metal in the mechanism, so I gave it a twist and then the ratchet worked once more. Thank you both....

That sounds like my level of mechanical aptitude and knowhow!
I'm so glad it's not just me.
Thanks, Troydog!

Yes Banksy, and I wrote this on a good day. I’m capable of attaching the centre pin To the rod the wrong way round, the sliding float upside down and even filling my petrol driven car with diesel.......
