EFGEECO Catalogues

Post by Deaf Cat »

These finds clarify a couple of issues raised a while ago in the "Efgeeco rods" thread
viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2559

1) No indication that Efgeeco sold course rods, cane or otherwise in 1965. However, in 1979, they were manufacturing or distributing built cane, glass and carbon fibre fly rods "designed or approved by John Goddard"

[UPDATE: This is incorrect, we now know they sold a range of cane rods in 1956, including the Richard Walker Combination Rod. See the latest in the thread mentioned above.]

2) Confirmation that Fred J Taylor worked with them (Marketing Manager and Model!)

3) Confirmation that they sold Scandinavian (Norwegian) lures

Finally, a nice touch, the tackle shop stamp on the back of the 1965 catalogue is from

That's just reminded me I still have a Paravan copper pike spoon I bought mail order from Efgeeco in (I think) the late 1960s.
