Thanks Nobby, I have been trying to get a definitive date for a G prefix Hardy greenheart / split cane rod for ages and can now date it between January 1938 and. September 1938. :Thumb:

Thanks Nobby. Already got some useful information on my Milwards “The Services” suitcase rod!

Rare old thing 'The Services', sometimes wrongly described as a 'smuggler's rod'.....

I'm sure it was made because all the Milward family served as officers in various army regiments. I recall just one set of images on the 'inthenet' site put together by Adrian Gay.

Thanks for this Nobby. There are some images of mine unrestored in my original posting under Milward’s Rods. I sent mine to Wallys Cast for restoration and received it back on Christmas Eve. I’m going to try and post some images and an explanation of the wonderful job he’s done on my original thread later today.
