New from the Netherlands
Very pleased to be allowed in! I'm an allround angler located in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Since I built my first spinning rod in the 1980's, I built and restored quite a few rods, among them some splitcanes too. Also fond of the 'classic' reels from the 1970's-1980s and somewhat earlier, like Luxors, Mitchells, ABU, DAM and of course Shakespeare. My basic rule is: all materials should be fished with!
I like splitcanes in particular for spinning (my favourite rods being the Arjon Forell medium for pike and the ligth version for rudd, perch and pike) and flyfishing (proud owner and user of a 9 ft Partridge #4/5). A splitcane tench/carp rod project using a 10 ft Arjon Reflex wasn't a great succes. However, thanks to this forum a learned to handle a Rapidex!
I enjoyed your discussions as a visitor for some years, great to be here as a member!
Hartelijke groet,
Wim
