Welcome to the "Dark Side" Steve. I believe these 2 beauties were made by Uncle Bill. Weather permitting I shall be using the larger on a small farm pond tomorrow.

If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

Welcome to the forum, Steve.

I hope school didn't get in the way of your match fishing in your teens! I too still fish with what was considered high-quality gear 45 years ago. Are there any particular hollowglass rods you've kept? Some CTMs or a Persuader or two?

Good to have you on board.

Welcome aboard Steve :Hat:
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’

A very warm welcome Steve, the old ways and baits still work as you have noticed.
