Hi from Correze!
Hi everybody!
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.
I've spent most of the last 15-20 years living in Suffolk and Norfolk but moved to the Correze in France about 2 years ago.
I've been fishing since the age of 11 and started off using rods such as the Milbro Coral Maestro (hence my moniker) and the wonderful(!) Intrepid Black Prince. I progressed onto the Mitchell 300 and rods such as the Gerry savage SU fibreglass carp rod.
I was a bit too young to be a user of cane rods at the time but I saw the light about 10-15 years ago when I bought my first, a Lee of Redditch and Pershore un named float rod. I've since developed an interest in collecting and using cane rods with my favourites being a Milwards Swimversa for roach float fishing, a 10ft 6in Milwards Featherlite for grayling trotting (comfortable to use all day and the perfect length for use while wading), a B. James Avocet for chub and a Rodrill Dipper for carp (better than a B. James Mk IV in my humble opinion!).
I've restored several cane rods over the years including an un named News of the World Champion rod awarded for a dace of 1-08-05 dated 1932, a pair of gold label Allcocks Wizards and I'm in the process of finishing off a rod that is similar to a Chapman's 500 (but isn't!).
I think I've acquired a reasonable knowledge of vintage tackle and rod restoration over the years and will hopefully be able to help other forum members. I'm keen to learn new methods and ideas and have been very impressed with how the other members help each other.
I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences with you all.
Cheers!

You’ve changed your name (again!) I like it, I was easily confused with Harry and Harry H (doesn’t take much!)

Welcome to the TFF.
