Good news if true. I don't know the chap but from what I gather he's the type who will respect and look after the place properly so it should be in safe hands.

Aye, certainly looks that way. Be great if that's the case – it will survive in safe hands. It'll be interesting to see what the arrangements will be for fishing. The Carp Society will no longer control it. Perhaps it might become cane only, no hair or bolt rigs or boilies etc. Either way I hope the pool gets a long rest and thereafter is not put under round the clock fishing pressure as has been the case.

Les Bamford has a plan he told me about whilst we were there for a couple of days mid October.

I think it's wait and see time. It might conceivably become GC Club only if Fennel has bought it. If indeed Les Bamford has a plan it will be interesting to see how that aligns with the new owner. We'll know in a week…

I do sincerely hope this is the case. Fingers crossed Skeff will keep his involvement and all will be good.
I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing.

I read somewhere that the lease for Redmire pool can be bought online for £1 (Unless it was shares or something like that) but it doesn't give control of the fishing rights in any way. I've probably got it all entirely wrong but this maybe what Fennel was talking about.

I can't remember where I saw it. I've just been looking but can't find anything now. :Hair out:

I'm probably wrong anyway, it has been known.
