As regard Eel numbers, this is a record year for Elvers and licenced fishing for them is a lot more restricted than it ever used to be, so the future could be very bright for Eels.... I do hope so.

Lets hope!

Last year I caught an eel of less than 1', my smallest ever, and I was fair chuffed because I knew it meant they had still been breeding successfully over the last few years, albeit not in enough numbers.

Great to read so many folk on the forum are passionate about eels!
