Walkers measurements are from the apex of each each strip to the flat that is to say half the rods diameter. Chapmans measurements are from flat to flat ie the full diameter of the rod

Cork Handle: 28" x 7/8" with two alloy sliding bands. 7/8" alloy butt cap with 1" red rubber button.

Guide sizes:

Butt : Aqualite 25mm and full open bridge size 9.

Top: full open bridge sizes 6, 5, 4, 3, 3. Size 3 Aqualite tip.

Intermediate wrappings: Butt 2" Top 1½" --- 1¼

Wrappings: Green with copper wire wrappings on butt ring and female ferrule.

If you measure your MK iv carp rod don't be surprised if you get a different set of measurements This is true with many cane rods and is why I think this taper archive will be of so much use. please submit anything you can as it is of great interest and I am sure will help us all understand the rods we love.

Well thats a keeper.. Thank you.
I have never made a split can rod.When I do it will be RW MK1V I have always wanted one.
Most of my rod building was with hollow glass Conoflex blanks.
