MK4 Question

Post by Harry H »

I recentley aquired a onion handled london address Avon it has a bit of damage to the cork at the base next to the butt cap my question is it the correct one and if not would it be the same size as the carp mk4. My mk4 carp seems to have a slightly thicker handle so I am assuming that the butt caps would be slightly smaller for the Avon.
The Avon is on the left in the pics Image

I think the butt cap has probably corroded away and this one is a replacement. It often happens when rods are put away wet and kept in damp places like garages and leaky sheds.
I believe the parallel section of cork on your rod should be 7/8" in diameter.
