B.James MKIV Rubber Button Variation?

Post by Northern Eel »

One of my B.James MKIV's (onion handle) has an unusual rubber button, not the standard B. James used, I assumed it had been replaced at some point in its life, then I stumbled across a picture of another B.James MKIV (onion) with the exact same rubber button!
Is it possible they may have used an alternative button on some rods? I know they sometimes changed the whipping colour & agate rings when they ran out to fulfil orders.

1st pic is some shots of the other rod I found on the web. & the pic at the bottom is my handle.
