Hardy LRH no 1 9ft 6 inch spinning ring spacings
Evening folks . Can anyone advise of the ring spacings on the above rod . I have stripped one down but like a clot didn't mark where the rings were and my poor old eyes cannot detect the markings where they were situated . Many thanks

I have an untouched one next to me - an old one. I will measure tomorrow for you & let all know.
See how they compare or how different.

Right here goes:=
Handle - 25in: butt ring - +14in: 2nd ring - +14.5in: top of female ferrule - 5in. Total Length of cane = 58.5in.
Tip section from tip down to end of male ferrule: tip - 1st ring - +7in: 2nd - +8in: 3rd - +9in: 4th - 12in: 5th - 13in: end of male ferrule - 8in. Total length of tip section = 57in.
Hope that helps!
The ringing for the tip section is very similar to a LRH2!

That’s interesting
My tip section is identical
Butt section reads:
Handle 26in: butt ring + 22in top of female ferrule:10in Total length of butt section = 58in
I’m fairly sure the butt ring is original

A quick look through my Hardy catalogues show two types of butt rings.
Either Agatipe throughout in which case there are two rings on the butt section (circa 1937)
Or
A large Monet type butt ring with copper whipping on the lower leg (circa 1957) - My rod
I hope this makes sense!

Handle on the rods:-
LRH 2 = 28in.
LRH 1 = 23in (with Type B reel fitting according the the 1951 catalogue.)
The 1937 catalogue shows 2 rings on the butt section - not stated whether a LRH 1 or 2 . No No:3 rod then.
The fittings seem to have varied or been made to order over the years.
The Monel ring seems to have been used on later rods.
