Found this on a certain website
11ft three piece coarse rod, whole cane butt & middle, split cane top, the number on the butt cap dates it to 1920, there is no script, but I have no doubt it is a hardy rod, it is arrow straight, the whole cane sections are superb, typical of hardy pre-war coarse rods.
It has been restored a good while ago as the rings are rusty so will need doing again.
I have a 1921 hardy catalogue, they did not offer many coarse rods so the only model it can be is a
FWK Wallis "perfect" Nottingham rod No1
It has a very short handle at only 15" long, I may extend it when I rebuild it, as standard they had a wooden handle, or for 8s you could have cork, which this has with a hardy wooden button.
Will be a lovely light float rod

Paul, if you want a quick profit sell it to Ashby Cut as a second carp rod

Very nice indeed Paul, there's definitely something about the early rods.

Paul, You will love the whole cane, so slim & straight, so much like my AllrounderCrucian wrote:Very nice indeed Paul, there's definitely something about the early rods.
I need to decide if to extend the handle or leave it as origional

What a lucky find, you have a piece of history there which is also a very fine fishing rod.
