I have a friends S Allcock Redditch Ltd 'The Gunner' fly rod for refurbishment and I haven't been able to find anything on www for it.
It's a very slender 9' three piece with twist lock brass ferrules. The reel fitting is anodized black with an 'upscrew' fine thread and a nickel plated brass butt cap.
The ferrules and agate tip/butt rings suggest 1940-50. It doesn't have any transfers, the butt cap is engraved 'S Allcock Co Ltd. Redditch Eng' inside an oval.
Does anyone have this rod or an Allcocks catalogue listing the rod. It does not appear in their 1938 catalogue. Any information gratefully received.

Nigel, this may help. Sorry for the low quality. I have no scanner at home.
From the 1938/9 catalogue.
Best, Bobby

Bobby,
You are a star. Thank you very much. I was concerned about the bridge rings and colour of the button. Now I can work on the rod with confidence I'm keeping it original :-)
