Ah I see, only both the Colonel's rods, restored by AJD, had winding checks, maybe they were added in the refurb. And Mark's I see, perhaps they were dropped in the later models.

I have 2 cane ledger strikes but also have a glass Peter Stone specimen S/U by Davenport and Fordham in Poole. Has anyone experience of using one of these? I have had it for a few years but not yet got round to using it and not worked out the test curve. I would think it has never been used as it has a pencil mark on the handle section where the joint was fettled to suit.
Any information would be very welcome.
I will use it this year and match it with a Mitchell 300 to see how it fishes.
