Just bought one. It’s a two piece. I don’t have it yet though.

See chapman site - they also list
“The Amwell” SP 11’ 3 piece bottom rod. 1950-1970 - but no definition given - "Split P....?" definitely not solid Plastic

Re: Pye SP ?
If I remember correctly it was "standard pattern" no inters or the like. There's a thread on here about it somewhere.
There are three things that improve with age: wine, friendship and water sense, and there's no short cut.

I’m pretty sure that this one has intermediate whippings.
I think it’s the NL that doesn’t?

I have a Chapman's Peter Stone Ledgerstrike SP which has no intermediate whippings and the ties are in black thread with black reel fittings. A very fine rod indeed.

Re: Pye SP ?
I think with chapmans as its a very personal business ,some rods designated Sp might not have all the feature's ,because of customers choice ,and chapmans being very flexable having excellent customer service ,the customer is always right ,especially with a bit of guidance where needed .
I try to be funny... but sometimes I merely look it! Steve
