Impregnated blanks from Chapmans

Post by Buller »

Does anyone know whether Chapmans offer an impregnated blank as an option for their 2-piece Avon rods? If they do, what are they like?
Thanks in advance!

A quick call to Chapmans would answer your question!

I have a 10ft 9inch two piece Avon / Barbel rod, built on a Chapmans impregnated blank. I have owned and used it for a few years now and found it a lovely rod to use.
The extra length was to give it a slightly more delicate tip for bite detection but it's also handy for flicking out a freelined bait and any extra weight difference is hardly noticeable as it has a 30 inch handle which gives the option of reel mounting further up to balance it out perfectly.

The impregnated cane is really good quality and certainly worth considering as is the extra length if ordering a new blank.
