where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).

It still is the best moment in the pursuit of Carp to my mind. Followed closely by Chris’s capture. Incredible to think that 67 years have passed by - every time I look at the front cover of still water angling I smile - what a chap he was.

Thanks for the reminder Mark :Thumb:

Richard Stuart Walker should have been honoured in the New year’s Honours or the Queen’s Birthday Honours for his wartime work, along with his vast knowledge of angling which he freely passed onto hundreds of thousand of people, who become very good anglers. There are two people I will never forget Sir Winston Churchill and Richard Stuart Walker Rest in Peace Gentlemen

When carp were carp, and anglers were glad of it.

I love listening to Dicks account of that special night it's a wonderful story. I play it through my bluetooth whilst driving every now and then as it's still on YouTube

I never tire of the story and have read it so many times in ' No Need To Lie ' I know it pretty much off by heart but it inspires and has in my opinion few equals in terms of angling accounts.

As a youngster I remember seeing Ravioli in The London Zoo, as I lived not too far away. It was a special capture for so many reasons, how time has flown!
