Fish head walking cane

Post by Rutland Rod »

On an online auction along with another, hopefully most of us don’t need a walking stick but if you want something elegant this could be it ! Image I prefer the other one myself though.

They are both very nice, but sadly due to my 'lock down' increased drinking, I am more in need of crutches! :surrender:

It is one of several we bought as presents for my late Father in Law. I can't remember where we bought it, possibly the Lake District?

Mark they are stunning. I’ve seen few better than that pike!
I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing.

Excellent! How I wish I could post pictures - don't ask! I have a crook (or perhaps more correctly a "cromach" stick?) made for me by the late, great Jim Weir of Over Garrel. It's adorned with a delightful brown trout crafted from horn from his own flock. He gifted it to me after I helped him over lambing time, as neighbours did. A celebrity 'guest' I took fishing on the Naver refused to believe it was made of natural horn, when wet it does look alive!
