Of course, I can't be of any help regarding the Wye. Nevertheless I wish you all the best of luck, Phil! Go and catch a roach!

That swim looks as though it’ll be stuffed with roach.... it’ll be one a chuck...and in the pub by 4pm....perfect!

Nothing in there, unbelievably, despite a nice clean bottom (but you never know how the floods have moved fish about I guess).
Headed for a nice even paced three foot run and started with a few of these:
But the bait going in has attracted these now! Who remembers the charity floats?

There are a lot of fantastic reaches on the Wye, and many where you can catch more fish I expect, but none have the atmosphere and varied water of the Moccas Fishery, in my humble opinion.
What a lovely day.

The river is perfect. Height 1.5m and falling, colour 4/10 on the Heinz Tomato soup scale, temperature 7.4 deg C, as it was yesterday.
So I changed swims and changed baits. After 14 perch averaging one and a half pounds yesterday, today resulted in 16 roach with the best three weighing about 1lb 12 ounces. Half the other fish did not need the landing net. Ive had some three dozen two pound roach from the Wye these last 40 years, so I don’t weigh fish that I don’t think will be ‘twos’.
I hope that you had a good day Tengisgol.

Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......
