A few old hooks, lures, bits and bobs

Post by Kev D »

Decorating ,l'm convinced , is an invention of The Dxvil. Still, while attempting to drag the kitchen up from paleolithic levels to a more acceptable 3rd World standard, l rediscovered a tin of bits in a drawer. I was ,of course, then obliged to to stuff the decorating , sit down with a cup of tea and play with the shiny things.

I remember being given that little River Runt as a Christmas present when l was around twelve . I couldn't bring myself to use it in anger. Instead I would wiggle it through the air while forming my free hand into the imaginary jaws of a pursuing pike .
Of course l grew out of that nonsense a couple of years ago.......

Some wonderful memories for you there.

"For better results use Woolworth fishing tackle" I'll try and remember that.

A vintage 'Method' feeder . Though it wouldn't have been called that at the time.

They were just feeders - mostly hair curlers!

The inline one illustrated was later and possibly home made? Still available although the lead has changed!

"Luron" was the first monofilament I ever used - a blue 50 yards spool.

I too still have that River Runt - a Shakespeare model?

And I cycled past PDQ near Hersham to fish the R. Mole at Esher Mills.

Brings back some good - and bad - memories! :Scared:
