Fly fishing book valuation

Post by Muskieman »

One of my collegues works part time in one of the local charity shops.
As a bit of a book nut I have asked her to keep an eye out for any books and she has found the following.
Trout Flies of Stillwater. John Goddard. 1969, first edition. VGC
A Dictionary of Trout Flies. A Courtney Williams, 1973, fifth edition.GC
Fly Fishing Tactics on Still Water. Geoffrey Bucknall. 1974, second edition. GC
Fly Tying. Sugg, Whitehead and Vare. 1973, first edition. GC
Presenting the fly to the Trout. Frederick E Mold. 1967, first edition. GC
The art of Fly dressing. Bill Tagg. 1970, first edition. VGC
A Handbook of fly tying. Denis H Ardley. 1977, first edtion, signed copy, VGC.
None of the above are price clipped and all have dust jackets. I'm not a fly fisherman but have said that I will try and punt them out for a good price.
Any ideas of value or interest.

Check out Amazon to see if any of these titles are for sale. Often multiple copies are available with a range of conditions!

You could check on ABE UK ...put in title and author and you should get the price for copies for sale at UK booksellers...with some notes on the edition, whether has a dust wrapper etc.

I would go as above to ABE get an idea of price range related to year and condition.
