Two thirds of the way through a complete restoration of this (£ 3.50 car boot purchase) Milwards 2 piece 8ft split cane rod and aithough I still have to whip on the tip guide and varnish I wondered if any one could tell me what type or model of rod it is, it is quite stiff so I wondered if it was a carp or pike rod, I think by the red agate rings and brass fittings it is pre war. It has no model number just the Milwards arm transfer above the handle and Milwards made in England etched on the brass butt. I am sure someone out there will know.
Thanks for looking. Jacko Jacko
Please can anyone identify this Milwards Rod ?

That looks very much like a rod I've got but mine has a dolly section.
I'm sorry I can't help Jacko, I don't know the name of mine either.

If its pre war I wouldn't of thought it being a carp rod as carp where considered uncatchable at that time.

Its first outing, Pikemaster or not it catches carp, 7 in total and its still in one piece, not sure how it would stand up to a double figure one though.

Your work has paid dividends, Sir. Well done.
