A few nice Tench

Post by TraditionalAngling »

Made a early start today to have a try on a club water that was a gravel pit some 14years ago.Tench was my target and they did not let me down. The weather was very warm with a strong easterly blowing across the swim.Just a small amount of ground bait maggot/worm bread mix. With bread paste as the hook bait. Then the wait.Well the float slowley disappeared within ten minutes. And it started to head to the middle of the lake then a sudden turn towards me and the lilies. This was some tench that knew what it was about. After about five minutes it was in the net.Yes it looked a good tench in the net.So to weigh the fish a nice surprise 6.50 lbs.by PB.The next hour was a delight followed by two more tench one of 5lb and the other just under 5lb.And that was it spent another five hours without another bite. But still very happy with the result. With the local lake cat sitting on my lap waiting to be fed. Lovely fish, Sir.

Lovely tench looks so smooth like the catfish too :Thumb:
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish
