Mk ivs all the way. Nothing against the 550, but it would have to be the mk ivs.

I say the same, Mk IV's.

I wish it was my choice to make..MK1V's for me, although the 550's are a super rod to use.

I have a mk1v, but like the convenience of a three piece. The fact you can put them in the boot of a car when your walking round a lake or fishing after work? Just a thought?

All things being equal, eg. condition etc I'd go for the MkIVs. However, all things aren't equal and I'd go for the best two rods. I've never really been one for matched rods and it's not really possible with cane, even if you had a new pair made I bet you'd be able to tell a slight difference in them.
