I remember writing to him with some questions about Carp in the early 70s- received a hand written answer- what a nice man!Mazza wrote:i bought this book a few months ago ive just got round to reading it is really quite good i liked cypry which he wrote years ago and this is good too ive just ordered his new book by fishingbooksender which is out soon

Here is a picture of Peter and his wife taken on Saturday at our British Carp Study Group book launch. It was lovely that he managed to make it for the day and see the group still moving forward.
Picture was taken by Dave Gawthorn who we had asked to shoot away for the day.

Re: peter mohan carp stories
Will be one on my wish list, I like Peter's writings, I used to be in contact with him a lot in the late 70's early 80's as he ran the Devon and Corwall branch of the CAA. Also used to fish his waters at South Tawton (Oxenham Pool) The place Cypry the story of a carp was based on. I know it upset him greatly when they built the link road through the old estate.
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’
