One thing though, when I stood on the dam wall at Redmire being prepared to see a small pool after hearing as you said everyone thinks it is so small, I was amazed how big it looked and stated "it's bigger than I thought it would be".

Thanks Chris, I have now listened to it. A few good extra bits of interesting details that I didn't know.

I can understand how back in the 70's or maybe early 80's anglers going to Redmire for the first time would usually be surprised by how small it appeared, but I cannot understand how any anglers since then can be surprised by the size, as its been common knowledge for decades now that its a little under 3 acres.
After all if you know a pool is around 3 acres before you see it I can hardly imagine why when you actually arrive at it you would comment on 'how small it looks'.
