Bamboo or wooden float tubes

Post by Hannay »

Have any of our craftsmen on the forum thought about making these? Does anyone know who is making them? I've seen a few for sale and although they are beautifully crafted they do seem rather pricey. Perhaps they are quite expensive to produce. Any thoughts?

I'd seen the tube Loop had made, Davyr. I was looking for anyone who is selling them. I'm terrible at anything craft-wise so am in awe of anyone who makes floats, boxes etc. I'm afraid I have to buy all mine!

They do come up on eBay from time to time, but I'm guessing it would be uneconomic to sell them for less than the £30-40 that's usually asked.

That's pretty much what I thought! The search continues...

No, Sir ... had it a few months. An ebay item.

For me both are too heavy, aluminium is a better option in my every quest to travel as light as possible....
