Edgar Sealey ESS Match rod rings?

Hello all,

I am refurbing the above rod. At some time in its life it had been re-rung and the butt ring was just a big plain high bell.

I wish to return its lined butt and tip rings. My query is does anyone know or have an unfettled one and could tell me what colour the linings are.

I have sets of white, agate and clear so it's not a problem.

For your info I believe it is spanish reed and built cane tip.

Regards Ed.

Do you mean the very early glass rod Ed?

If so, I have one that was heavily restored by Wally’s Cast for me. He had to replace all the rings except for the butt ring (I think) but tried to restore it as accurately as possible for me. Happy to dig it out and post a photo for you as the ones in the link focus on the construction of the glass, not on the rings.

Thanks fellows, its spanish reed and cane. I reckon it is clear then. Luckily I have a set and a fresh spool of Pipers olive silk.
