Hi jds - That's one of the early canvas seatboxes, so it dates to the first half of the 1960s. Later in the decade, Efgeeco replaced the canvas with an unpleasant green vinyl. Hard to say which model it is - I remember there being a "Major" (and possibly a "Senior"?).

A hearty welcome jds, Sir.

Pakaseat's do fetch good money and are very collectable :-

Sadly that's not a Pakaseat you have ... and probably worth £10 or £15, if ebay prices are anything to go by :-

I'm reasonably certain the one you have was known as the "Standard".

Perfect for the narrow steps on the tidal Thames; a p.i.t.a., literally and figuratively, in most other places. If you use Stewart-style partitioned boxes that need to be stood on edge, put a strong rubber band round them, and carry spares.

Edit - if you find organiser boxes with useful sized compartments that will fit in horizontally, please tell me; I've just got a 60+ Oyster card, and plan to revisit the Tidal soon!

I used to ride in a sidecar by my Dad's BSA past the factory as we went on to Clapham Common to sail boats or fish for carp back in the Fifties.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, that was for a Pakaseat, not a seatbox.

Hi all, :hat:
I've got two versions that I still occasionally use for beach fishing or the even rarer legering occasions.
One is the more modern (? :hahaha: ) version with the green vinyl covering (same as the photo) and the other is a version with a shaped back, shoulder straps (to be worn rucksack style), a large keepnet pocket and two capacious zipped side pockets. I may be wrong... but I seem to recall this was called "The Rover". Basically a good design for those days but still a back breaker! (It took me a few more years to realise that the bigger the bag/box, the more you struggle! :hahaha: )
I bought this particular one back in the mid seventies and used it for my club match fishing days. It had a nice drain built into the back (front?) keepnet pocket which used to dribble all down my back on the long plod across the fields, back to the coach!

I wonder why nobody wanted to sit next to me on the journey home?

That's very tidy Merlot - is it a waxed canvas fabric with leather trim?
