Lucky Strike with nobs on

Post by Gilbert »

has the gallery section been terminated ? i couldn't find it so i'm posting this here ..

i've had a very early Lucky lurking in my loft for a few years and i thought it might like to see the water again so out it came .

it's an early rod with brass handle fittings but with shrives rather than cork sheet handle - so early but not the earliest . it should have had blue wraps but it had red and it looked original -- who can tell ? anyway i wanted black and yellow so that's what it has now ,

i wanted to try a few changes in the inter department just to see how it turned out , which is the reason i am posting the pics . --what do people think of the result ? ------i like it and i will do another . in the meantime i will use it for this season at least ...thanks for looking
. G... apologies for the black ones

They look great. An excellent combination.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

The perfect colour scheme Gilbert and a lovely job you have made of it too.
I have heard of Red whipped ones but not certain if they are genuine factory colours. It could just be the early ones with the shoulder collar.

My first rod was a Lucky Strike, but even when brand new it didn't look as good as yours! Lovely job, congratulations! :Hat:
