Can anybody tell me what style of rings and colour of whipping are correct for this 10 ft, 2 pce Alcocks Carp Superb. It came with these. But they don't look right to me.
A friend has a very similar New Superb which is whipped in black and has this style (pictured on a f/g Tag Barnes carp) along with a pink lined tip ring.
As always any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you for looking.

Hi Eric
Can't help as regards colour but I have this advert which lists some specifications, how do they compare to your rod

Re: Carp Superb
Here's the original butt ring and tip ring I took from mine. As the tip was busted and two other rings were rusty, I removed them and replaced them with Pacbay Minima's which also lightened it by an ounce or so, but then I'm a well-known philistine
I still have the butt ring and next four rings, for a donation to the forum, I'll post them to you.
...I also did this unspeakable thing to the handle...

Re: Carp Superb
Thanks for the feedback folks. On reading these adverts for the two models, it would appear that the New Superb precedes the Carp Superb, the former presumably being an Avon rod throwing 3/4 oz for tench and barbel. The latter then should be a somewhat stronger rod being designated as a carp rod. I see the CS advert lists 'Aqualite' lined tip and butt rings and stainless intermediates, so I am leaning towards the style of ring shown by JAA with maybe a suitably sized Aqualite butt if I can find one amongst my stock of vintage rings. Can anybody tell me what colour Aqualite linings are?
JAA, pm on its way.

Re: Carp Superb
I believe Aqualite, Amberfin, and Agatine are all just trade names for the sherry coloured sintered glass linings.

Re: Carp Superb
The A238 pictured above is in the 1966 catalogue.
The butt ring was also used on the Avon Superb ( I have one) the A235 in the 67 catalogue.
The butt ring red aqualite was also used on the Carp/Avon (I have one) the A239 in the 67 catalogue.
There is a whole thread about the Carp Superb, the New Superb both 2 sections and the Carp with 3 sections. = = "Allcocks Superb - - gold oval label""
