Pol Vitamo. Any one remember this stuff? Used it bream fishing, painted it on worms and it certainly made them wriggle! Smells bloody awful though. No idea what it actually was!

Yes, I came across it first when I was fishing in a festival in Holland in 1985, it certainly has a pungent smell to it which you can’t get rid of if you get it on your hands, I don’t know why but the smell always triggered a connection to bread in my mind. A friend of mine who was a tackle wholesaler used to send a case of it over to me and I delivered it to a well known tackle shop and I had to collected the money for it, it became quite expensive and a case of it amounted to quite a bit of money.

Regards,
John

I've used it and it was fantastic, especially for perch and bream. But the oil from Patak's chilli pickle is just as good if not better.

I brought some a few months ago. Used to use in on the Weaver and Cheshire lakes for Bream and Skimmer fishing back in about 2000. Seems to get you a bite when nothing else will.
