Post by Cat »

Afternoon All, Perhaps a daft question, but did J S Sharpe make non-imprenated rods as well as impregnated? Regards Cat

Yes many of the earlier rods were available none impregnated. Later catalogues showed only a few were available without.
I believe when the company changed hands, only the impregnated rods were made.

In the 1965 Tom Watson Annual both the Sharpe's Carp and Avon were impregnated. The Carp being stated as new impregnated version. Was this the beginning of their 'impregnated' range. Were rods previously made not impregnated?

I have seen both the Avon and Carp with starting prices over £399!

I thought they did both versions but have never researched it.
