I recently, about 2 years ago, bought a ABU 501, which seemed to be OK, very good condition and rotated well. However, upon, removing the side cover, I note that the brass spindle which helps as a guide for the reciprocating in/out motion of the spool has broken, where it would seem it is a push fit in the gear pinion.

I am loathe to try to dig out the broken segment and make a new one.

Might I therefore ask has anyone got a complete Pinion gear spindle as shown and willing to sell or donate. It is the item on the right.
